Aim of the project: establishing long-term relationship and a network of contacts between graduates of Lublin University of Technology working abroad and current students and academia, spreading good practices of a career abroad, inspiring students through graduates.

Target group - graduates of Lublin University of Technology working abroad, foreign institutions employing graduates, students and potential candidates for studies at Lublin University of Technology, academic environment of Lublin University of Technology

Project activities:

recording LUT's Success Story videos by graduates,
contest and selection of the Ambassador,
promotion in social media of a career abroad,
organization of two conferences during which motivational speeches (LUTtalk) will be delivered, a mentoring program and networking, establishing relationships
the final movie LUT's Study Together as an inspiration for students and potential candidates for studies

For graduates: new professional contacts, strengthening the image, the possibility of establishing cooperation with the academic environment of Lublin University of Technology, improving skills of self-presentation and mentoring
For students: they will learn about good practices on career building, expectations of foreign companies, opportunities to build a career path abroad, new opportunities, new contacts and relationships, and mentoring.

MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT

The aim of the project is to establish long-term relationships and contacts between graduates of Lublin University of Technology working abroad, and current students and the academic community of LUT. Graduates working outside of Poland are to be an inspiration for current students and an example of a successful foreign career. As part of the project's marketing campaign, graduates will have the opportunity to present themselves and their career path in the form of short videos - the so-called LUT Success Stories. The author of the most popular film will be selected as the Ambassador through a contest on Facebook and will be included in the mentoring program for students of Lublin University of Technology. In the project remuneration is foreseen for mentoring. The next activity in the project will be organization of two conferences in October 2019 and February 2020, for which three graduates who participated in the competition, including one Ambassador, current Polish and foreign students and the academic community will be invited. During these events, the authors of selected films, as guests of honor, will deliver motivational speeches (LUTtalk), receive commemorative statuettes and prizes. As a part of the conference, the first mentoring and networking meetings will also take place, and students and employees of PL will have the opportunity to establish personal contact with invited foreign graduates, whereas graduates will have the opportunity to inspire and encourage current students of Lublin University of Technology to gain experience abroad, for example as part of foreign exchange programs for studies and internships, will be able to share their experiences, present their career paths, answer student questions. Conference participants will receive information materials and promotional gadgets. All project activities will be disseminated in social media and on the project website. After the conference, the final project video - LUT's Study Together will be recorded, presenting the advantages and benefits of studying at Lublin University of Technology. All project participants, both graduates and students, will achieve tangible benefits. Thanks to the project, graduates will gain new professional contacts. Their professional image will be strengthened, they will be able to establish cooperation with the academic environment of Lublin University of Technology, they will improve their self-presentation skills and mentoring skills, while students will learn good career building practices, foreign companies' expectations, opportunities to build a career abroad, new contacts and relationships, and mentoring.

Lublin University of Technology announces the "AbsoLUTely Best Alumni" contest!

ABOUT THE CONTEST

AbsoLUTely Best Alumni is a contest organized by Lublin University of Technology as a part of AbsoLUtely Best Alumni project funded by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange within the International Alumni Programme.

The contest is addressed to foreign graduates of LUT:

foreign graduates of 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree studies at Lublin University of Technology or
Polish graduates who after graduating in Poland moved abroad and stay there permanently.

The first edition of the contest ends on August 31, 2019.

AIMS OF THE CONTEST:

selection of the Ambassador of Lublin University of Technology and two LUT's graduates who will receive the largest number of votes in a plebiscite on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/325242841480135/
establishing long-term relationships and contacts between graduates of Lublin University of Technology working outside Poland, and current students and the academic community;
promotion of a foreign career in social media;
presenting LUT's students with good career building practices and various opportunities to build a career path abroad.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

To participate in the contest, all you need is to:

send a short video showing the professional path (LUT Success Stories) to the address This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
attach the completed Registration Form.

The videos will be evaluated and accepted for publication by the Contest Committee. The accepted films will be published on Facebook, subject to voting by Facebook users.

Guidelines for LUT Success Stories videos:

the participant may send a maximum of one video;
the author of the video can only be one person;
the film shouldn't be longer than 3 minutes, filmed in any format that allows its publication in social media;
the content of the film should focus on the aspects of the graduate's experience in working abroad, international exchange, their career path abroad, tips for students of Lublin University of Technology who are planning a professional career abroad.
